Mirror Shots:Perfect vs. Worst Ever

Mirror is easy to be found everywhere. But the ‘mirror shot’ is a much-debated but evident part of participating in fashion communities. It involves taking a self-portrait with only a camera and a mirror, which might be heard quite easy. Of course, hold the camera and take a shot before a mirror is simple to be done by anyone while it’s hard to spur your creativity. Below photos are courtesy from digital photography school and Smosh. Through comparison, you may find some inspiration from it.

Gallery of Wild Animals’ Photography

Land Nick Compared with docile pets, wild animals are much dangerous and unpredictable. Therefore, shooting wild animals’ photography requires abundant of courage and patience. And animal photographer becomes one of the most mysterious types of profession. A photographer who uses good exposure, color and blur settings along with appropriate shutter speed and focusing techniques can produce stunning photographs.

Sushyue Liao
To shoot the best performance of wild animals, photographers have to get disguised. I used to see a photographer squatting in a poor, covered with duckweed and lotus leaves. He is so focus that he keeps his body unmoved to shoot a frog. Persistence is so important for a professional animal photographer that he has to be prepared for the unknown.

When shooting in wildness, photographers usually shoot with long telephoto lenses from a distance. When the animal is in its natural environment, capturing the elements behind and around the wildlife adds character and life to the photos. When the location is as spectacular as the animal, the composition is made by incorporating both, giving the animal a sense of place. By photographing the animal in its natural environment, the wildlife should compose a majority of the frame, making a proper statement.

Dear Photograph: the Memories Echo in the Past

When I was young, my parents were fond of making photos with me. But I was not so much interesting in being shot. Therefore, a large number of photos were shot with my mouth pouting. I was so upset at that time. But now, I am so thankful for those memories being kept. Photos brings me hints of my childish life, my cheerful youth. And it is time to farewell the carefree past and bravely accept the challenge in the future.

But before that, I have to recommend a book to you. Dear Photograph, a photography book contains many people’s memories. No matter sadness or happiness, everything becomes so lovely when looking back. Don’t waste your precious time, for youth, once spent, will never come again.

(Below are quoted from Dear Photograph)

Dear Photograph,

We were two years old when we became best friends. Now that we are eighteen, I hope we’ll ride through whatever life brings our way, together, best friends…. just like always.
Hannah

Dear Photograph,
So much life has flourished and grown up here in my parent’s house. Our tree seems to be the best reminder of just how many years have passed since I took all my favorite friends for a walk. I hope one day to establish such deep roots for my own family…
Brie

Dear Photograph,
You’ve shown me how I’ve been embraced in the circle of your love from the very beginning. Thirty nine years have passed, and still I feel that same love now, just like I did back then. Even when we lose someone so unexpectedly, like our brother John, and miss him each and everyday, it does my soul good to know love really is never ending…

Laurent Chehere’s Works: Adventure is Out There

Love at the first sight when I see Laurent Chehere’s works. A pure sky with a lovely house in the center presents a sense of patience and softness. The house is static but I can feel it is flying towards me with a house of hope and peacefulness. In this world, everyone struggles to live a better life. House presents not only architecture but also a sense of security. Sometimes, I will image that I have a house with a big garden full of beautiful flowers. And I know, one day, my dream will comes true.

Later, I think of a movie called UP. The hero in this story works so hard to move his house near the waterfall. Life is an adventure; you never will know what you will face next. When embarking on your journey of life, you have to be brave and happy to embrace every morning. To quote from UP, “Happiness is not about being immortal nor having food or rights in one's hand. It’s about having each tiny wish come true, or having something to eat when you are hungry or having someone's love when you need love.”

Flowers: A Popular Subject for Close-up and Macro Photography

Most of women are fond of flowers. Even for those people who easily get allergic, flowers are great gift in dream. However, flowers are hard to keep. Regardless of those pot plants, flowers are easy to wither within a few days. Thus, people keep seeking methods to keep their beauty for longer time such as vacuum package, herbarium, taking photos and so on.

Among those methods, I prefer photos best. It is a good way to keep flowers fresh without hurting them. I like those photos very much. To enjoy them is an embrace with the nature. Therefore, I like to scan the website to find out those beautiful pictures. And I find Mandy Disher, the winner of International Garden Photographer of the Year, who is professional in macro photography. Let’s learn from her photos. (Below is taken from Andre S Gibson Blog)

“I’ve always loved the natural beauty surrounding me and flowers seemed the perfect choice of subject for my love of macro photography. Nature does inspire me greatly, an endless supply of color and texture brings a fresh opportunity every single day, I could never ever get bored of taking floral shots.

Cosmos Charm (left) is her favorite because she loves the fresh feel of it, the simplicity, the light, the delicacy and elegance of the pure white petals, the sharp detail and complimentary background; it all seemed to work well and encapsulated all the elements.”
